The tourism area of Alto Tamega is formed of the five
municipalities of: Boticas, Chaves, Montalegre, Valpaços, E Vila
Pouca de Aguiar. It is risponsible for the tourist valorization of this
geographical surface, by respecting the balance of the tourist potentialities
and the historical, cultural and natural heritage.

It is an area of the north of Portugal crossed by the rivers
Tâmega and Cávado, rivers with crystalline water, and stuiting
trouts. One finds there stoppings, the pleasures of the sun and water
sports, mountains with the vivifying air, a rich iheritage and pleasant
climate. Alto Tâmega is the thermal paradise of Portugal, famous
for its cure and holiday resorts. Spain is located just at side; Douro
is within two steps; Oporto far a little more than one hundred kilometers.
Regular air links are ensured with the international airports of Lisbon
and Oporto. |
